About a Boy

Rating = B+

Another Nick Hornby book about a character caught in a rut he thinks is the life he desires and is released through the intervention of someone he is confused or ambivalent about being close to. The movie follows the book quite closely until the end when probably the book ending was too diffuse to work in a movie, but the movie ending is a slight let down from the level of the rest of the movie, perhaps because the screen writer hasn't got the story telling skill the book author does.
