Angels and Insects

Saw it several years ago
as a movie; saw the video again last night on PBS.
A naturalist is given patronage to live on a large estate in 19th
century England, where we come to see the parallels between the
community of the estate and the insect communities studied by the
naturalist and another member of the household staff (the latter
played by Kristin Scott Thomas).
The movie is from the novella Morpho Eugenia by A.S. Byatt, which
is excellent reading and which is published with another novella
under the combined title of Angels and Insects.
