Lots of the critics
appear to like this movie more than I did. I was impressed with how the puppets did make me
“feel their pain.”; and no doubt a great amount of time and effort went into the
puppets and sets (one critic I regularly read suggests that the film shows a new direction in
puppetry. However, even this excellent stop-motion animation with puppets could not get me to really like
an animated film. I usually really dislike animation;
in this case I merely couldn't really like it. I like human actors.
