Tempest, The

Rating = C+

This is the Taymore movie version of the play with Prospero played as a woman by Helen Mirren. The fact that (as in many Portland independent movie theaters) we could eat and drink in the theater (draft beer for me, wine for Sara; hot tasty pizza; popcorn served in a stylish bowl with a little glass salt shaker for our personal use—seated in comfortable chairs with a table for our food and drink) made the experience pleasant enough to not give the movie a lower rating. Mirren was fine. Taymore was the problem.
